Melton Construction Awarded "MVP" from Remodelers Advantage Roundtables
Ty Melton and Rick Johnson of Melton Construction were voted the Most Valuable Participants by their Remodelers Advantage Roundtable peers during the Remodelers Advantage 2010 Business Summit in Kohler, Wisconsin. The award recognizes those home remodeling contractors or commercial remodeling contractors who have contributed the most valuable information to their Remodelers Advantage Roundtable team and who have combined outstanding design build and construction expertise with remodeling firm professionalism to achieve the greatest improvement over the past year.

Melton is Now an EPA Certified Renovator
  Melton Construction is proud to announce that we have become an EPA Certified Renovator. Being an EPA Certified Renovator allows us to work in homes built prior to 1978.
According to the EPA: “Lead paint poisoning affects over one million children today. Adverse health effects include learning disabilities, behavioral problems, and speech delays. If not done in a lead-safe manner, renovations and repair activities that disturb lead-based paint can expose
children, as well as adults, to harmful levels of lead dust.” Since April 22, 2010, any firm performing renovation, repair and painting on projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes built before 1978 must be trained and certified as EPA Certified Renovators.

Melton’s Energy Work Showcased in Boulder Newspaper
Boulder’s local newspaper, the Daily Camera, showcased Melton Construction’s residential energy efficiency upgrade work in a recent article about Boulder’s efforts to lesson its carbon footprint. This article also discussed the upcoming trip of local delegation committee to the Copenhagen climate conference where Boulder representatives would discuss the climate action plan that they had implemented in 2007.

Melton Offers to Help Home Energy Makeover Winners
Melton Construction was selected to be the general contractor in Boulder for
the Smart Living Energy Alliance/Xcel Energy 2008 Home Energy Makeover Contest,
where a lucky family wins $25,000 in home improvements to increase
energy efficiency. Melton has donated labor to plan and supervise
the extensive upgrades to this 1940's home in the Chautauqua neighborhood.

Melton, the Boulder area’s first remodeling firm to earn Building Analyst Professional Certification by the Building Performance Institute, has started providing home energy audits and improvement services, employing its knowledge and state-of-the art technology to help Boulder County homeowners realize their homes’ potential for increased energy efficiency, lower utility bills and improved comfort.

Melton First Area Remodeler to Obtain BPI Professional Certification
Further demonstrating their commitment to helping homeowners in the Boulder area, Melton has become the area’s first remodeling firm to earn the Building Performance Institute’s Building Analyst Professional Certification. Ty Melton and Steve Phoenix each completed more than 80 hours of classroom and field work followed by the rigorous BPI written and field tests. Melton Construction provides home energy audits to help property owners determine where their buildings are losing heat and develop a plan of corrective actions. Unlike most auditors, however, you can actually hire Melton to get the work done.

Melton Becomes Energy Star Preferred Contractor
Melton Construction has become one of Colorado’s first remodelers to
earn the Home Performance with Energy Star certification. For homeowners who
pay high energy bills and are not getting the comfort they are paying for,
Melton now offers services under the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program
to help customers save energy and increase the comfort, health and safety of
their homes. Home Performance with Energy Star begins with a comprehensive
evaluation of a home's energy efficiency to determine which improvements would
be most cost-effective. Melton examines the whole house, from the outer walls
and ceiling, to the heating and cooling systems, and even the lighting. After
helping choose which combination of improvements makes the most sense for the
homeowner, we then make sure the work is done correctly.
